There are numerous variations of this exercise that players can perform for enhance their skills through this drill.

“Stair-stepping” is to practice by putting the ball before them. It works like this: Put one foot on top of the ball and then replace it with another, and do this recursively but not letting the ball to move in any direction.

Among the free soccer drills, this is not only productive but also a lot of fun. Teach the players to jump on and off the ball not letting the ball to move backwards.

The “Machine guns” drill not only improves the talent of the players to use the ball but also increases the strength, stamina and dexterity. In Machine guns drill, the ball is put between their feet.

Their motion is more or less similar to the stair stepping game but the only difference is that the players do this on the side of the ball with the intention that the ball moves between their feet.

One should quit playing soccer, if he is not good at juggling the ball. Though this is true, as a coach, you should understand that it does not come easily and takes a lot of time and practice. Except for few, Most players would even take years to perfect this alone.
